Setting Up User Registration Options
To set up your user registration
First, select the “Edit” link in the menu underneath your assessment.
Then click on the “Results” tab at the top of the page.
The Results page is where to arrange how your users will receive their assessment results.
Select Your User Registration Options
The first section on this page is for User Registration Options. Here you can decide if or when you require users to register when taking your assessment.
There are three options here for you to choose from:
- Choose the first option if you do not want users to register at all when taking your assessment.
- With the second option, you can request that users enter their contact information before they take your assessment.
- Choose the third option when you would like users to enter their contact information after completing your assessment and before they receive their results.
Notice that some of the other fields for this section change depending upon which of these 3 options you choose.
Bypass Registration Page by Passing Respondent Information into the Assessment
If you have a user who is already logged into your site, you can allow them to complete your assessment without having to enter their name and email address again on the assessment.
Provide the user with a link to your assessment containing URL parameters that include their email address and optionally their name, like this:
https://app.assessmentgenerator.com/assessment/[email protected]&fname=Test&lname=User
Note the extra parameters added to the assessment URL:
[email protected]&fname=Test&lname=User
When someone clicks on that link, their name (“Test User”) and their email address (“[email protected]”) will be recorded in your Assessment Generator account with their response, but they will not have to enter that information when completing the assessment.
Be sure to leave the User Registration Options set to Request contact information either before or after completing the assessment. The contact information form won’t be shown, but this setting is necessary to ensure that the information is recorded.
You can continue to use your assessment link without the additional paramters. If they’re not present, the assessment will request contact information as usual.
Allow People to Take Your Assessment Multiple Times
Next, you can decide whether to allow each person to take your assessment more than once.
The default setting is to allow each person to take your assessment an unlimited number of times.
When you uncheck this box, each respondent will only be able to complete your assessment 1 time with their email address.
Request / Require First and Last Names
When you request respondents to enter their contact information, they will always be asked for their email address.
You can also choose to request and/or require their first and last names.
When you request either the first name or last name of your respondent, you will also be given an option to require the entry of each of those fields.
When you require either of those fields, the respondent must fill in the required fields to receive their assessment results.
Enter Your User Registration Request
When you are requesting users to enter their contact information, you will see this next field where you can make that request in your own words.
Click the “Edit” link (or anywhere in this box) to enter your text. Then click the “Save” button when you are done.
Edit Your Privacy Notice
The next field is an optional notice that you can provide to your users to reflect your own business’ privacy policy.
To comply with international data privacy laws, users are required to check a box next to this message when submitting their contact information. (Learn more about that here).
NOTE: This notice is required in order to legally collect any EU citizen’s contact information, as stipulated in the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
We’ve provided some words here that you can use if you’d like, or you can change the notice as desired.
Google Invisible ReCaptcha Setting
With the next option, you can choose whether you would like to protect your assessment from bots. If you decide to check this box, an invisible ReCaptcha will be used with your assessment.
Normal users will not notice whether this protection is in place unless they happen to take your assessment many times from the same computer. If this is the case, they will be prompted to answer some simple questions to prove that they are not a bot.
Be sure to click the “Save” button to save your changes.
