What is a Digital Access Code? #
A digital access code is a security feature that protects assessments by requiring a unique code to take the assessment.
- Each code can only be used once.
- Available for Advanced, Private Label, and Enterprise subscriptions.
Digital Access Codes #
Requiring a digital access code to complete your assessment allows you to prevent unauthorized users from accessing your assessment.
For example, you might have an assessment that you use in your coaching or consulting practice that should only be available to clients who have signed up for your program, or perhaps you have an assessment that you want to make available for purchase.
Digital access codes protect those assessments by requiring a unique code to take the assessment. Each code can only be used once.
How do you take advantage of this powerful feature?
Depending on how you plan to distribute your assessment, there are two ways to provide authorized respondents with access to your assessments.
Manual Approach: Generating and Sending Access Codes Yourself #
You can generate batches of access codes from within your Agolix account and either send them out one by one to specific clients or download them as a CSV file for use in another system.
This can be done entirely from your Agolix account and does not require third-party tools.

Automated Approach: Sell Access to Your Assessments Through Your Online Store #
You can configure your store to notify Agolix whenever your assessment is purchased. Agolix will automatically send your buyer an email containing a unique link to your assessment. That link will include the access code, so the purchaser never has to see or enter it.
To see this process in action, you can “purchase” this free assessment. When you’re done, you’ll receive an email containing a link with your access code.
This approach requires an e-commerce store where you can create a product representing your assessment. The software you use to create your store must support integrations through Zapier. Don’t worry; all of the most popular systems support such integrations.

Access Codes are Invisible to your Respondents #
With either of the above approaches, your respondents never have to worry about copying and pasting access codes.
When a code is generated automatically after a web store purchase, the buyer is emailed a link to your assessment that includes the access code.
If you generate codes manually, you’ll also receive a link to your assessment that includes the access code in its URL path. Send those links to your respondents instead of the codes themselves, so when your respondent clicks the link, they are taken directly to the assessment.
Discovering Assessments that Require Access Codes #
What happens if someone finds your assessment but doesn’t have an access code?
Agolix will prompt them for an access code, and you can customize that page to include sales material.
For example, you can include the following information:
- A link to your web store where they can purchase access to your assessment
- A link to your website to learn more about your services
- An email link that generates an email to you
